NAD - Citrus-y Goodness AD30

Re: NAD - Citrus-y Goodness AD30

wow nice! I wonder how it would take a muff clone fuzz pedal like my black arts pharaoh

Re: NAD - Citrus-y Goodness AD30

I didn't have my board at rehearsal the other night so I can't really say.

I'll have it next week and I'll throw my Muff at it and see.

I had one and loved it but found it redundant next to my 90s Orange Overdrive... they're extremely similar but the Overdrive is a bit louder, bassier, and more aggressive so it suits me better.

They both sound like Oranges, but the AD30 is a little more Vox and the Overdrive is a little more Marshall, if that makes any sense. Probably due to the fact that the AD30 runs EL84s and the OD80 runs EL34s.

Both amps love fuzz and overdrive and make you feel like you're a 70s rock icon. The combo version of the AD30 is on my local Craigslist now with a roadcase and I'm seriously considering grabbing it for a tour I've got coming up.

Sounds about right.

The AD definitely has a Vox-y quality to it but the mid bump is lower range than Vox, not as jangly.

So this thing is a pretty great RnR machine

I changed the preamp tubes out for a mix of Ruby a 12AX7AC5HG+, 2x the regular HG and a Mullard 12Ax7, amp just came life as I kind of figured it would.
