I scored a Peavey Penta head on Friday. It's shipping from an out-of-state GC. I used the $75 off coupon.
Reviews I've read for the amp are very positive, and the youtube demo blows me away. Four, in some cases maybe five, useable and great sounding voicings including a Marshall Plexi-type overdrive that cleans up well with pick attack and guitar volume adjustments, and a crunchy 80's tone.
I have the matching cab. I found a used one cheap a couple of years ago and have been using it a lot on tracks I'm recording. The backs of the speakers have a Peavey logo, but there's a sticker on the sides of the magnets that reads "Celestion GT12-75".
I'm looking forward to cranking out the riffs from "Cygnus X1", various AC/DC riffs, as well as my original riffs through this amp when it arrives.
