NAD! CRATE!

Hehe... I picked up a Crate Power Block with box, bag and all in mint condish. Wanted it to either power my ipod through some old Utah speakers, or use as a power amp in a wdw or wd rig.

What I didn't expect was that it is darn usable as a guitar amp! Not going to replace my main amp, but this lil' bugger thumps on a theile cab with an EV. Perfect portable sleeper rig!

I'm stoked!

I was surprised they discontinued them, because they seemed like a consistent seller. Maybe their profit margin was too small.

Seems like, if the volume was high, they might have tried to lower manufacturing costs, or raised the price. Maybe it was cutting into sales of other things in the SLM family of brands.

I carry one with me to every gig as a backup. It's great for that as it is so small, physically, and the tone is decent enough for an emergency.
Funny thing is, I've never had to call on it!

I thought of buying one just for that reason. You can throw it in the back of your combo and never know it was there until you needed it.
