NAD: Fender content. ;)

Just got one of these for $30 in perfect condition with all the papers/disc/box. Picking it up sometime tomorrow. I'll list one of my reel to reels to get the money back but I'd say I got a pretty decent deal. :)

Congratulations. It sounds like a great deal. I admit that I have had some fun playing those little Fender modeling amps on a few occasions. I've often thought about getting one of those or a Roland cube. I saw a video a while back about Eric Johnson using one backstage.

Re: NAD: Fender content. ;)

I wonder if they take pedals as well as Fender tube amps??

It doesn't take overdrive pedals all that gracefully. At low pedal volume things sound OK but certainly blurry, messy, and excessively rough. Much volume boost to the front end is not handled so well by the DSP. Sometimes a little splattyness in your tone is OK but it all just sounds like a pedal in front of a modeling amp.
The twin model is my favorite for my pedals but it's still not like a tube amp to me.

The amp IS quite good at recognizing how an amp *should* react to pickup output and playing dynamics, but outside of certain input ranges it's just not designed to work the same I guess.

oh and to the OP, congrats! great practice/jam tool. I just sold mine and so now I can't play amplified at 5 am :(

Running pedals into a modeling amp should be about as satisfying as having intimate relations with a blow-up doll.

Depends on the modeler, it doesn't hurt to try. I just got a Vox Stomplab and it took a pair of Overdrive pedals in front just fine. (A little noisy with both engaged, but it wasn't a digital noise.)

Sweet, enjoy it! I have a little Fender G-Dec that I use a lot for noodling around. I bought it because it has built-in backing loops I can jam along with. Very convenient.
