I remember being asked back in May what I could possibly want, I thought well, I LOVE guitars. so a custom guitar and a dream amp. well last Tuesday I was asked to play at a Make A Wish event, so I learned Walk, Don't Run by The Ventures and when I got on the stage with my Semi Hollow I got a question, would you rather play with this, and it was the guitar and amp I had wished for back in May, I was thinking oh my god, is this even real?! so I said... YES. and even though I bombed half the song from being nervous af it was still a ton of fun.

Marshall 1959SLP with a 1936 Lead cab!

Go to the guitar NGD on the guitar section, but at the top here is the story of how I got this amp and how awesome the make a wish foundation is :)

Woah man, congrats! I really like the sound of Plexi-style cleans.

Thanks! I love this amp a lot haha I was using a JCM800 clone I made and I love this Plexi so much more but they both have their applications!

So you're saying the Make a Wish Foundation bought you that?

A whole rig is a pretty impressive gift!

Congrats man! Both are beauties. Also, is that picture in your signature supposed to be a link too?

(Edit: because gearjoneser did too)

Gearjoneser - Please do throw yourself down a set of stairs.

Re: NAD Marshall 1959SLP!!!

nice score. if you can, trade in the 1936 cab for the 1936V. it has the beautiful celestion vintage speakers. they are way better than the G12T75 in the basic 1936 cab.

Go Greenbacks man! Even better for old plexi abs imho. MV could be nice for low volume playing.

I agree, but not in a 2x12. An SLP will need at least 4 GBs and maybe 8 if it ever gets cranked.

75s like to be pushed and this amp certainly can. With 75s one must EQ in lots of mids. One advantage of 75s is their lower efficiency with an amp that needs to be played loud.

Of course they need more power to be what they're born to do. That's where we meet the plexi mods :) I've had a modded one - mv and gain stage which is controlled by one of the preamp tubes, on any speakers (v30, g12-75,greenbacks, creambacks) sound ofc different but no need to put volume more than 2-3 for garage/home loud playing.
