NAD: Randall RM100

I've been skulking around the MTS forum and modder sites (Salvation mods, Jaded Faith mods) and I've been really impressed. I finally found an RM100 head w/3 modules (ultra, ultra+, blackface) for $400. It even has el34's.

Just to get my feet wet with the modding thing, I'll ship one of the Ultra modules to Jaded Faith to be modded into a EV Trilogy:

Cool. I had one of those amps. The SL+ module was the best. It needs no modification. Randall Makes a modular preamp now which is only like $500 new. Pretty cool stuff. Looking forward to hearing some audio.

I spoke too soon. Turns out the Guitar Center in Pasadena stocks RM100's with modules that DON'T WORK :butkick:

Eventually, I'm going to get an RM100, just not today.

The one based on the amp Slash used on Appetite? Yeah.

It's hard to find great mid-high gain Marshall mod on any of the mod sites. The only Marshalls I like are the Brahma and the Quickmod, which seems like it could do old-school thrash/death/Motorhead. It would probably go well with some 6550's, which you can use with the Randall's.
