NAD; Trainwreck Rocket

This one took a long time. Given that John Mark has taken over building wrecks, this is wreck 2.0 I guess.

I won’t get caught up in any of that old argument. I have plugged into a lot of amps. This one by far is the punchiest EL84 I’ve tried. Has a 3D quality to it. Swirling tones: Harmonics are nuts. And single string note definition is best I’ve ever played. Or built.

I initially ordered an express but about the time JM was ready to start the build, we had another long conversation about me, my gear and what styles I love to play. The cleaner Rocket seemed to favor JR better. Im glad to have made the switch.

To pass th tone, I picked up a Komet Songwriter. Outstanding amp but too much overlap with the rocket to keep it.

Also grabbed a new G&L Doheny. What an amazing guitar. So much better than any Jazzmaster I’ve tried. Highly recommend one.

Excellent. On my wishlist is to try a TW Express build. I say "try" because, while I can build it, I'm not sure how close I can get to a real one.

Selling the Komet. The songwriter 30 is cleaner overall but same build quality and excellent overall tone.
