NAD - Vox AC15C1

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

Wattage, they won't honor the 20% on Vox now. The rep says Vox dropped the hammer on it two weeks ago. I was going to pick up one! My wallet is now happy again.

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

Snuck one in under the wire!

Sorry 'bout that, they didn't even flinch when I asked

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

I grabbed this off a dealer floor in Arkansas for around $500. It was a no brainier. Four 6V6 power tubes. It's the only Bruno I'll ever be able to afford!

My friend's shop has a used one for $899 so that was definitely a great score Scott

It was shop worn when I got it. The reverb pan needed a spring fixed. It needed all the boogers and dirt wiped off the outside and new power tubes were in order. It had been played pretty hard for a few years. So a nice used price and still with warranty. (got a new reverb pan under warranty, no success arguing for new tubes though!)

That's cool, the one here is super clean. Very, very nice amp.

Well I have to say I am loving this AC15, what a great sounding amp.

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

sweet! i thought about getting a ac15 but i already have too many low wattage amps

I got rid of everything except my Orange DT and my 2 cabs and I originally wanted the AC30 head but the more I thought about it this was a perfect fit.

It'll be for sale here in 18 months. :)

Fair enough since I don't think any gear is a permanent solution but I don't generally flip amps quite like guitars. I did go thru quite a few different things for awhile as I figured out what I wanted to do, I got tired of big rigs, and in doing so fell in love with EL84 powered amps. I'm down to Orange and Vox and other than a Deluxe Reverb there is not much on my radar.

I was just trying to be funny. More of an indictment of all of us combined! Sorry.

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

It's funny how most of my guitars I consider as keepers and likely never for sale. And yet out of all my amplifiers, there are only 2-3 that are off limits. Most of the others are in various stages of repair or just old collector pieces that I got great deals on. And all of them are for sale at some point. :)

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

I swear I was going to put a joke For Sale thread in the Trading Room hahahaha

Everybody's different. I have friends that have played for 40 years and still have almost every guitar and amp they've ever bought. I can't do that for a few reasons but guitars are just way more flexible to me than amps. I am almost always chasing something in my head and usually guitars are the fodder.

Love the color. Tomorrow I should be joining you with the vox ac15c1 club. Let's just say tomorrow there will most likely be a NAD thread from me.....
Literally cannot wait to play it.

Presents we "buy" for ourselves are always the best. I bet it's working. You are the kid on Christmas Eve praying to God for the new bike tomorrow.

Re: NAD - Vox AC15C1

Try running your pedal on just battery power first and foremost. Might eliminate it if you've got a crappy power source. Also, it doesn't buzz without your pedal? If so, it's not your amp. :)

I mean it buzzes but normal amounts without the pedal. But I do run the pedal just on battery.
