i've always wondered why some knobs are bigger than others? is it just cosmetic?

I spose it is kinda, i guess you could have them all small and they'd still do the same job lol but I think it's so you can notice which are the tone knobs easier or faster, instead of having to bend down and look at them or something along those lines anyways...
