NAD

First off, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Second, I was fortunate enough to get a little Christmas money so I rolled it into a new Pro Jr IV.

Wonderful little beast!

Pairs up nicely with my Strat too... Who'da thunk?! (just silly talk grammar cops).

Re: NAD

What type of music do you play and what pedals do run through it?

Blues mostly. I run a tube screamer clone, a vibe and sometimes a phaser. The built in reverb is fantastic. I will usually play a strat or a tele through it.

I'm contemplating getting an EHX Soul Food and River Drive pedal.

Re: NAD

Cool little amp. I love small tube amps.

I'm really starting to appreciate them! I've owned a ton of high watt monsters that I couldn't use property.

Re: NAD

That is very cool. I am starting to revisit smaller tube amps myself. Fender seems to be the benchmark when it comes to the lower wattage arena.

I was intent on buying a Marshall DSL15c, but the Tweed hit the mark tonally and in simplicity.

Re: NAD

So what is the difference between this and something like a Blues Jr or Bassbreaker of similar size?

Minimal controls (vol/tone only), a 10" Jenson and the tubes are EL84s and 12AX7s I believe for a tighter low end and it has a little more headroom, again I believe. I'm not amp smart lol. It sounds really good though.

I forgot to mention the real reason I bought it was the "warmth" it produces. No Fender shrillness. Warm and sexy like the Bassbreaker but more traditional sounding if that makes sense.

Re: NAD

the pro jr probably has a bit less headroom but since its just volume vs the blues jr and bassbreaker having a master volume, you can easily get a louder clean sound from either. the pro jr is a great little amp for sure though!
