Naked Strings is closing?!?

Re: Naked Strings is closing?!?

Musician's Friend has their own brand of bulk strings. I've used them for years without problems.

Re: Naked Strings is closing?!?

If you like DR they will package custom gauged sets and are very reasonable on pricing.

Also try ordering bulk single strings from Elderly Instruments. I love those cats and get all my strings from them!!

What gauges do you need that are so hard to find??

Not 100% custom but big city strings will let you swap out the plain strings in a set of GHS. Curt Mangan does custom sets as well.

Re: Naked Strings is closing?!?

This is kinda funny considering all the brands mentioned here (GHS, DR, Ernie Ball) are brands I don't like. :D

I'll have to see if D'addario or Dunlop will sell multiple singles - I'll probably have to buy enough to make multiple sets tho.

I was gonna try out this .0095-.048 set I had worked up. I typically play .010-.052s

Not surprising to me. I like those brands and f-ing hated Naked Strings. To me, they felt really stiff compared to other brands' strings of similar gauge.

Re: Naked Strings is closing?!?

You can buy individual D'Addario strings for example but it will end up costing probably double what a pre-packaged set costs. Maybe a dealer gives bulk deals? I never bought from naked strings so I don't know what their strings were like. There is always Rouge. Musicians Friend or one of the other big online dealers sells individual Rouge brand strings in 10 or 12 packs. I never played those either.
