Slash uses a Jim Dunlop rackmount Crybaby. This Ernie Ball is a brand new product. It's about time EB did this because folks have been putting wah circuits in their volume pedals for years. Those shells are indestructible.

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

oh .. his wah looks like the Ernie ball. Anyway its about time for me to get my hands on the EB wah now

I only see Slash uses it during his Gn'R tours
on UYI tour Slash used a modified EB vol pedal connected to an EMB Audio remote wah. the EB was only used as a controller for the remote wah.

Yeah. I think thats the one I saw. I was asking around during those days whether EB had wah and it was told to me that EB doesn't have a wah pedal yet

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

Yep...I have the same EMB wah and using the volume controllers is GREAT! But..I just noticed that it doesn't look like these wahs have the same amount of travel in them as the volume pedals do.

I knew he used a remote wah system but didn't know the EB Volume pedal was out front. Way cool because like I said, those things are indestructible. I gotta try out this new wah.

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

yeah the rackwah is pretty sweet, here's a pic of mine but I use boss pedals to control it right now:

Are you saying that the EB volume pedal gear control-thing will give more change on a potentiometer than, say, a Vox 847 will? Therefore, putting an 847 circuit into an EB volume pedal will give more drastic toe down and toe up tones?

If so... I'm grabbing an EB volume soon!

Well kinda. Some people have put wah guts into ernie ball pedals but it requires some modding to do so. Have you ever messed around with the pot in your wah? If you have, you'll notice that the actual range for the wah effect is rather small so with a large degree of travel like on eb volume pedals (18 degrees as opposed to 6-8 on normal wahs) you will probably have dead spots on both ends. I think what they do is use larger pots with wider tapers. But...save yourself the hassle and get one of these :D

Now with my rackwah, that is different because the design is specifically made to use the volume pedals and there is no pot.

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

Ok, when do these go on sale? Where can I get one? How much will they cost?

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

street time is said to be about 4 months but I haven't heard of a price just yet.

Re: namm: Ernie Ball Wah???

I dunno...since these are brand new, who knows what will change (if anything) once the production ones roll out.
