Nashville tuning anyone?

I have tried this before and thought it was time to do it again so i went down to the local store and got myself some strings for my Epiphone J-200 copy. It's great and i can imagine it only get's better when you have 2 or 3 guitars playing together and they have orignal tuning. Sweeet

Does anybody else play with this tuning?

for the uninitiated, nashville tuning is the name given to a tuning where you replace the low E, A, and D strings with thinner gauge strings and tune them an octave higher than standard tuning

what gauge strings do you use for the 3 replacement strings? ... is the new low E string wound or unwound?

do you need a new nut? ... new intonation?

Depending on my session schedule, I might string up my acoustic like that. I mainly use it to add a little depth to a rhythm pattern. I used to do leads with that tuning. I was trying to emulate a mandolin. It didn't really sound authentic though....

I looked at the D'addario website and they offer a phosphor bronze set for nashville tuning, but of course the swedish dealer don't sell that set, so i bought single strings. They didn't had the 0.27 d'addario used for their E string so the closest they had was a 0.29 Phosphor bronze string, but it's okey.

Since i have done this before, i took it to my friends at the local store and let them have a look at the nut, guess you could do the same.
