Nazgul at lowgain/clean-ish

Going to get a ESP eclipse in a month or so and the first thing im going to do is rip those EMGs out.
Im looking out a nazgul-set as i want a real metal guitar, but it want to get away at lowgain/crunch/blues-setting.
Would _you_ recommend me to look at other options?

I once had an LTD EC-1000 ASB with a JB/'59 set. I play on a Death Metal band back then, but also played softer stuff, and the set was versatile enough to do both.

You can always try it out.

The Nazgul/Sentient pups I never tried, but I'm not into high gain pickups nowadays.

I'd go more Pegasus, as it isn't EQ'd as extreme as the Nazgul. To me, the Nazgul does one thing extremely well, and that is a ton of gain. The Pegasus can do much more really well.

I'd suggest the Black Winter. I like it better than the pegasus, and it is almost as aggressive sounding as the Nazgul. The Nazgul does high gain well, and I think it can do a metallica-esque crystal clean, but at lowish gain it is like trying to play low gain with a chainsaw.

But the black winter will do what you want and do it well. The pegasus will as well, but I am not quite as big a fan as I am of the BW.

Don't rip those EMGs out. Put in a set of the het set instead.

Or the 57/66 if you want teh alnico t0nez.
