Nazgûl, JB, or go active?

I would just throw something out--the Gibson Ceramic Set (496R&500T.) For me, I was able to cover anything from the blues to hard rock...just a thought

Bright epiphone and scooped amp. Want mids and play blues to metal. I'd say Custom

I hear tell that they make noisy low end feed back, and are too much bright. I played them in an Epi Custom Classic and they had some bite to them, but I wasn't there for long

These are pretty good suggestions. I mentioned a few bands and sounds, but I will say that there are certain players that i'd like a bit of their sound. One of them is Mick Mars tone. Like his live sound is so huge and full. And I think he's playing mostly hot rodded Fenders these days. But his rhythm sound is huge. I know stuff like Kickstart My Heart is like 5 guitars tracked together through a slew of Marshalls so yeah I know I'm not getting that exact sound ever. And also his dropped D standard tuning has everything to do with sound. I learned some time ago that sounds change radically when you start detuning the guitar. I've always set well with a half step tuned down. Old Hendrix thing I guess, but whatever it feels right.
