Liko's post above is a good one. Definitely take that into account if you're worried about cleaning them up. Honestly your amp probably matters a lot more than the pickups.

I currently have them both. I would say "nice tight low end and lots of clarity" more accurately describes the Nazgul. The Pegasus is a warmer pickup in comparison, a bit more robust on the bottom end. In direct comparison, I would say that due to the Pegasus being a bit bassier, it's actually a little less clear due to the bass strings sort of overtaking some of the higher notes on big chords. (Again, that's in direct comparison, it's not something you'll really notice on its own.) I'm not saying that as a negative either, it's just a different tone, sort of like comparing different colors, neither is better, just different. Just depends on the person, since it's all subjective anyway.

Digging out an old thread, I know. But, do you still have both? If so, how do they play together in a mix? Do they compliment one another or step on one another?

I’m getting a Pegasus and Sentient pickup and play metalcorish post-hardcorish styles. Some of the songs I got require to tone down a bit and play some clean string picking, think like Silverstein’s My Heroine or Underoath’s Reinventing Your Exit during the bridge. The way I had the nazgul explained to me was it has a very pronounced mid spike that doesn’t sound to nice clean only with a ton of gain.

The Nazgul definitely does not require a ton of gain. It does it on it's own. :lol:

Here's mine, with a second guitar using an Entwistle Dark Star. Naz panned left, DS panned right. The mix still needs work, but it might give you an idea of the Naz clean and dirty. Run through a 6505mh w/Line 6 OD.
