Tiny Recap...
Back at Christmas, my sister's fiancé gave me this hideous red Sonata (made by Hondo) explorer/precision bass. It was ugly, the electronics were busted, the nut was gone, and the whole thing suffered the effects of years and years of neglect. He said if I fixed it up, I could keep it. So I did. I put in a cheap Chinese pickup made by a company called Belcat. Ceramic mags, and it's wound to about 8.8k or thereabouts.
It sounds and plays pretty damn decent, even considering the plywood body. Sustains pretty long, sets up pretty easily, and has a full, clear and even tone but it's still got some spank to it. Huzzah!
