NBD: PRS content

New baritone day! Build quality is nice as I've come to expect from the SE line, it should do what I'm looking for from a baritone. The pickups seem a little dark considering the point of the guitar (gettin' low!), but I'll spend a few days with them first. I'm used to my teles, so this will naturally call for some EQ adjustments. Overall it seems like a solid fiddle.

Awesome!! Congrats!! I dunno, maybe Im mental, but when I play the SE's and a reg PRS, I really dont see much difference other then the figured tops on the PRS' are nicer. But feel and playability on the SE's are Really close. I dont feel $2k difference.

Re: NBD: PRS content

I believe the 2k gets sunk into wood selection, programming a CNC to carve a top, the beautiful stains and finishes, and of course the quality of the finish itself, not to mention labour costs.

You could get a monkey to set up a $4000 guitar and it'd feel like a chopping board with some strings nailed to it.

And you could get a pro luthier/tech to set up a $200 squier and it'd feel like a million bucks, but might not sound like it.

I actually really like the look of the blank board with binding. One of my basses only has side dots and I love it because it makes me go by feeling and brief glances at the side. I wish more guitars had that! Honestly, that PRS SE looks amazing!

I've played around with it a bit more throughout the day. It's definitely cool, but I'll definitely be swapping pickups. The stock ones are just too muddy and lack definition, chords smear together more than I like. It resonates pretty well though, so it should pretty solid with decent pickups. I'll post a clip over the weekend.
