2025 is the Year of Purple Guitars --> Let's See 'Em!

I absolutely love Gambale's playing, but never could stand his tone, though.
He got better with Chick Corea, thanks to Bag End cabinets, and a great sound guy.
But yeah, that Truth in Shredding album, and much else except some Chick Corea was hard on the ears.
And he’s reverted back again.
Definitely not the gear’s fault. He just leans into it when sweeping, and plays too light when not - and god knows what yardstick point he sets it all up to. But watch the entire workout video and you’d swear he has a perfect right hand. The reality is that it’s just exercises, and repetitions. When the gloves come off and the adrenalin is flowing - he can get seriously ugly and gnarly.
Does show that environments like GIT only cover the basics of gear, and not the finer points of how to make a gain-rich amp respond beautifully at will.

Warren de Martini’s Ratt tone still remains a good target for aspiring sound-shapers to aim at - before branching out into their own thing.
If you just expect your tone to develop naturally, then good luck with that.
