NBGD: FTIO

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
New Blue Guitar Day! First Time Ibanez Owner

So, there goes the rest of my new 2x12 Cab money. I spied this Blue Ibanez RG4EX on C-list this morning. This is an Ibanez that has long been on my watch list. I have came across a couple in pawn shops in questionable shape. This one is in nearly perfect shape except for the missing whammy. Sweet flames top! Not bad for 2 bills. Now...where did I put that DiMarzio Tone Zone....

I really like the colour but I can’t play the rg line . I’m not a fan of the wizard neck

Bob..... I'm glad to see you scored something to soothe that blue guitar itch. I personally like the Wizard neck and I hope you will as well. You've managed to score quite a few guitars in good shape for not a lot of money. I hope it sounds as good as it looks. Hit me up if you need a JB or a 59' neck.

Congrats again!!

Re: NBGD: FTIO

I have a set of reliced pickups
Trem spaced JB and neck spaced Jazz
And a new set of chrome covers
I can make you a deal on

Re: NBGD: FTIO

That center single won't take a standard single
You will need either a "flangeless" single or open the route a bit

Re: NBGD: FTIO

If it were me, I'd put a set of DiMarzio Titans in it. If you want more of a rock sound, I think the JB with a Jazz or '59 would be a solid choice.

Re: NBGD: FTIO

Wizard 2 neck isn't it guys? (much better IMO)
Not quite the same as a wizard.

I love these guitars except the fret material sucks,,,,,,,but for $200 who really cares.

wizard 17mm-20mm w/430mm radius (metric 17")
wizard2 19mm-21mm w/400mm radius (metric 16")

And when any given guitar gets 1/24th of the total play time....It will last.

Definitely going Tone Zone

Re: NBGD: FTIO

Just a maintenance note; Be very careful if you do anything to the nut.
I've seen so many of these get little hairline cracks going on the back of the neck where the nut screws are,,,obviously from over-tightening, which is always something I have to really police myself on.
