NCD - RockNRoll Amps 4x10 cab

Wattage

High Voltologist
Changing around a few things lately, chasing some different sounds and a 4x10 was very high on the list. I met the owner of RockNRollAmps a little while ago at a guitar show and hit it off with him. Love his amps and will probably end up with one down the road a bit but mean time I figured I would have him set me up with a really killer guitar cab.

It is solid pine and made to resemble an Orange 4x10. Wired for 8 ohms with a pair of Emi Ragin Cajuns and a pair of Emi Ramrods in an X pattern. They work really well together and the Dual Terror sounds killer through it. The back has 2 panels that cover 2/3's of the open space, I may get a 3rd panel to experiment with and see how I like it closed as well. The wiring is super neat I need to get a pic of it.

That's probably the best cab you could get for Your Dual Terror.

I know what you mean about getting a company's cab before the amp. I can't justify a 65 Amps head, but their 212 cabs look so cool I want one.

Patriot + Redcoat is a classy combo.

Looks great!

How do you find it's projection when standing in front of it vs a 4x12? Do you have it on a stand or tilted back?

Re: NCD - RockNRoll Amps 4x10 cab

For rehearsal so far it is just sitting on the floor behind me, the projection is great. It sounds much larger than I could've expected. Very punchy sounding maybe it doesn't have some of the thump of the 4x12 but I don't miss anything at least so far.

Re: NCD - RockNRoll Amps 4x10 cab

Pretty cool Scott. I know the amps well. The place we rehearse at sells them and I have used the 20W 6V6 Deluxe he makes and it sounds killer. I also have a 1970 Marshall 4 10 that has Celestion 15W speakers. Its actually Cals but I have it on permanent loan haha). Its a very rare cab, but I have been afraid to blug it in to my Bogner or Komet. Don't want to blow a speaker. I have been looking for a low wattage head to pair with it. That looks like a really well made cab. Good luck with it...

Re: NCD - RockNRoll Amps 4x10 cab

Cool new cab. I know Jack he's a nice guy, I had him do the caps and bias on my '79 JMP a while back.

Re: NCD - RockNRoll Amps 4x10 cab

Very nice pairing with a DT or any Orange for that matter, nice one.

Very cool-looking cab! I'd like a decent 4x10 to put my JTM45 through...
