hi there, I just wanna know what pick-ups would be best suited for my epiphone goth reissue 58 flying V. I'm considering the SD '59 models (both neck and bridge) and humbucker from hell for neck and tone zone for bridge...my friend told me that i should go for the '59 models for variety sake because I already have tone zone from my rg470...does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for a vintage tone though, just to get off from my RG tone for awhile :smack: :dance: thanks for all the help

very Bright Acousticlly? And very light. They claim it's mahogany? I
can promise you mine is not like any mahogany I'm use to. If so
it must be a low grade Phillipine mahogany or Luan? Anyway, If yours
is Bright and light like mine and you want to warm it up some? Go with
a PuP with a A2 magnet. APH-II Pro, seth lover or SH-11 CC. I just took
a Pearly gates outta mine. Although it's a A2 it had a Lil' to much upper
mid sizzle for my taste. Other than that the 59' is a good chosie for
vintage tone.
Not true at all. :laugh2: I have a Epi goth V. For some reason mine isfretburner said:

I don't think Philippine Mahogany is LOW grade. And that's not because I'm from the Philippines.
Nwy, there are light weight mahoganies out there. My Epi LP is pretty light and it is mahogany.
Seth Lovers only come with covers right?

You could order a set without covers. But it's quite easy to remove the covers anyway. Just cut or melt the two solder blobs on the bottom and push the cover off.
Michael Schenker uses a Custom and a '59n in his V's. Great hard rock tone, though not exactly vintage. I think a set of '59s would be good, or if you want something smoother try Seths or Alnico II Pros.

If you want great vintage tone that will cover blues, rock and hard rock, and you don't mind paying a little bit more get the Antiquities. They are excellent. My only reservation would be that if you also want to play loud high gain metal on this guitar you may encounter squealing problems as the Antiquities (in keeping with original PAFs) are not wax potted. If that is likely to be a problem go with '59s (or PGs, or A2Ps). Seths also are not wax potted.
