Neck of a soloist Body of a san dimas

Anyone try putting jackson soloist neck into a san dimas. Because I like the body of a san dimas and the neck of a soloist will it fit?

You need to be more specific about the particular models.

I'm guessing you mean a Jackson Dinky neck, right? Soloist are neck-thru guitars so no neck replacement is possible.

Dinkies are usually 24 fret guitars vs the 22 fret San Dimas Strats so the neck is not a direct replacement, you'll have intonation problems.
Even if the neck can be properly set, the high fret access would be awful as San Dimas Strats are not designed for 24 fret necks.

If you want a Strat shaped guitar with a pointy Jackson headstock you should look into the old Charvel Model series or get a custom Warmoth.

I think we should encourage this kind of creativity.

Steam the wings off of the Soloist, use a hammer or perhaps a steamroller to insert the Soloist neck into the Charvel body, use a nice latex finish and install a Shure SM58 instead of pickups.

Might be able to pop a 22 fret RR3 Rhoads neck on there, although the Charvel body's neck cavity may be a bit smaller than a Jackson's.

NO im serious yeah i mean dinky a jackson body is too pointy for me

Re: Neck of a soloist Body of a san dimas

I am pretty sure most Charvels had Dinky / Jackson headstocks for over a decade. I would just buy a bunch of them...

Re: Neck of a soloist Body of a san dimas

Like Dom said, a 22 fret RR neck would probably work, and you might have to widen the neck pocket about 1/32" on each side, but a Dinky/Kelly neck would require the whole pocket be recut because the heel is deeper.

Older SanDimas ReIssues were 24 frets, and looked rather nice. Came out in the mid-late 90s.
Should fit a 24 fret Jackson neck, but I've never tried it.
