or you can baste in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, turning once.
Lemon Oil, Rosewood Oil, Linseed Oil, Gun Oil. So long as it's not something that has wax products in it, like furniture polish. Rub the oil on with your fingers, let it soak in for a few minutes, and wipe off with a dry cloth. You may need to repeat again, and then again a few days later if it is really dry. Just don't apply too much...if it seeps under the frets there can be trouble. I find that a drop or so is enough for one fret.

I use lemon oil and 0000 steel wool. I forget if it's 00000 or 0000, but it's the finest you can get.

Too often, stuff sold as "lemon oil" is scented naptha (i.e., lighter fluid). Best to check the ingredients. A solvent like that is great for cleaning the fretboard but I don't figure it's the best stuff for moisturizing.
OTOH, I suspect it's hard to go wrong with using rosewood oil (available at heath food stores) to moisturize rosewood. At least that's what I use...

true .. and many other "lemon oils" are just lemon scented mineral oil.
funny how that scent moves price from $2.00 for a pint to $10 for 2 fl oz.s
mineral oil works fine (even johnsons baby will work . stinks though) .. although it doesnt penatrate and moisturize as good as a thicker oil .. bores etc ~>
I've been testing out everything I can get my hands on .. lemon, bores, pure raw linseed ... I've been having good luck w/ the stewmac fretboard finishing oil ..
whatever you use ~> go easy with it .. and dont get any under the frets .. better to go w/ 2 coats than to slop it on.
seems like everybody is making a fretboard care system these days ... 5 years ago most guitarist's didnt have a clue about conditioning a fretboard.
