Neck pick-up to combine with Distortion in the bridge?

Hi,

My bridge pick-up is a SD Distortion 7 strings and I don't know which neck pick-up goes well with that. The website suggest to buy a distortion neck, but I was looking more for a Sentient like pup. Are the Distortion/Sentient going well together?

I use distortions almost exclusively (when not using Black Winters) and I will only use the Pearly Gates in the neck with a Distortion.

They match well and I love the way the Pearly Gates feels, especially with heavy distortion.

On paper.....you'd never think.

In reality....awesome combination.

A Sentient is a great choice for the Distortion. So is the Full Shred and Jazz.

I can't say how well a Sentient pairs with a Distortion, because I've never played a Distortion, but I have it in a Schecter with the Nazgul bridge pickup, and it keeps up super-well.

I'm not a 7 stringer, but on a 7 I'd thing full shred.
