Neck pickup for pairing with Custom 5 and Alternative 8 (2 different guitars)

I currently have a Custom 5/Jazz combo in my LP copy, and I just ordered an Alternative 8 for my LTD baritone guitar.

I need a neck pickup to pair with the alt 8 and while I'm at it, I may replace the Jazz as I find it too bright.

I've read people suggest the screaming demon as a good partner for the Alt 8, how about with the Custom 5?

The LP is turned Eb, baritone to drop A.

I play stuff ranging from cleaner (cleanup with guitar's volume) up to higher gain stuff, so I want something that could cover all that.

Must be a passive p'up.

I want something not too bright, tight, work well with gain and make for articulate rhythms (chugging/palm muting), etc.

Welcome aboard !!

Too bright in Eb will likely be just right in your downtuned baritone. I would give the Jazz a shot there first; you may not need another neck pickup!
the 'Demon is definitely great in the neck slot; it will be a bit hotter than the Jazz and rounder in the highs, while still remaining very clear. It would be a good fit for other bridge humbucker.

You mean the demon would be a good complement to the Custom 5 (In my LP copy)?

And the Jazz with the Alt 8 in the baritone...

Keep the Jazz, just maybe swap in an UOA5 magnet. It will tame it down a bit. Either that or a 250k pot.

I recently paired my alt8 with a jazz neck. I was very hesistant at first because from what i know jazz necks are bright. Now i love jazz necks and might change my other guitars neck pups to jazz.

I need to get another neck pickup, either way.

As VHTJay suggested, I may try the Jazz in my Baritone paired with the Alt 8.

I just need to find what pickup to get to pair with the Custom 5 in my LP

APH1 will be a little less bright than the Jazz, Demon might work for you as well, as was mentioned above. It matches well with a custom too.

The Demon is one of the best neck pups available. Yes, put it in your LP...It goes great with a C5. If you put the Jazz in the neck of your baritone and end up not liking it there either, put a Demon in the neck there too.

Update.

So I got an Alt 8 and Demon off Reverb dot com

Took the Jazz from the LP and put it in the Baritone with the Alt 8 - very nice combo!

Demon in the LP neck with the C5 - Also a nice combo!

I'm very pleased. The Demon pairs really well with the C5. I didn't care for the middle position when I had the Jazz with the C5 but the Demon and C5 work great together.

Same can be said for the Jazz with the Alt 8. VHTJay was right about the Jazz possibly being just right in the Baritone in terms of treble. It was too trebly in the LP but because of the low tuning (Drop A) it sounds excellent in the baritone.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and input!
