What about a DiMarzio D Activator X neck?

Based on what you've stated you're looking for, i don't think it would be a great match. I had a D Activator set in a guitar and the bridge and neck had very similar tones. It sounds almost like having a guitar with an 81 in the neck and bridge. If you're into that, great. If you're looking for what you described in your original post, the Air Norton is the best match DiMarzio has in my opinion. It is truly a fantastic pickup.

Actually, I've played a PAF Joe before that I really liked also.

If I choose a SD it will be the 59n, if Dimarzio the Air Norton :headbang:

my cheap skinny epiphone LP has a Custom 5 bridge and a Gravity Storm neck. I don't know any better but its the bomb dot com.

Sorry, my mistake. Mine were the D Activators. I have no experience with the "X" models.
