Neck pickups?

Does anyone know what might be just a tad warmer and a slight bit more output than the 59 neck pickup? I find the 59 neck to be just a bit scooped sounding to me. I'd prefer something just a tad fuller. Any suggestions?

Put an A4 magnet in it, which will add some mids & take away the boominess. Cost you $5 & 10 minutes of your time.

Could go A2 as well but A4 might be a safe bet. As far as the PU goes you could go with the Alnico 2 Pro.

"Warmer" plus a "tad bit more output"?

A4 or A8 mag in that '59.

If you look at the Seymour Duncan site, you will see that the Seth Lover SH-55 fill the bill. Next best will be a 59N with an A4. I had both in my Lester. I currently use a Ant (more or less the reliced version of the SH-55) with an A4.

I heard people saying an A2P with an A5 is like the '59 but fuller and less scooped. That is something to think of as well.

+1 to the mag swap suggestions. But if you feel that you must get a new PU that is fuller and a bit more oomph, consider a Pearly Gates.
