First of all it is time to stop lurking and get my sleeves rolled up! I was just thinking after the Christmas services that I really enjoy my Parker Nitefly. It is currently equipped with an orginal Parallel Axis Trembucker (SH-TB1) which I bought in '89 and has followed me through various guitars. In the middle there is a Parallel Axis stacked single coil (PA-STK1n) which works well. In the neck there is a Maricela Juarez wound neck Parallel Axis Trembucker (PA-TB1n) which I imported from Australia. Here is my dilemma. The tapped sound of the neck Trembucker is brilliant. It is by far the best single coil neck sound I have ever had and is right up there with the Strats I have tried. However the full humbucker sound doesn't quite do it for me. Perhaps the mid-boost the original Trembucker in the bridge has leaves me looking for a bit more midrange push from the neck. So I wondered if the best solution might be to put a true single coil and something like a Lil'59 (or similar) in the neck humbucker route. So here are the questions: is there a problem putting two pickups that close together in terms of the magnetic field and has anyone tried a solution like this successfully? My apologies if this has been addressed before but my searches revealed nothing.
