Neck PU hiss... Help!

Hey guys I installed a Duncan Full Shred bridge on the neck position a month ago...
A week ago I got a Blackstar HT5 my first tube amp
Tonight when I was playing thru it, I got a noise, the characteristic hiss when the neck PU was being played with... On switching to the Bridge pickup, a Duncan Distortion, the noise seems to disappear... The hiss also disappears if the volume knob of the neck PU was rolled down...
Can someone help me identify and troubleshoot the problem?
My guitar is a Samick AV3

Not familiar with the AV3. What control layout does it employ? Photographs might help.

Re: Neck PU hiss... Help!

First of all, a happy new year to everyone reading this post... have a good time ahead!!

Coming back to the problem, I opened up the guitar cavity and turns out it is not shielded... however, the cover plate is covered with a conductor coat on the inside..

With a bit if online research, I suspect the pickups are having grounding problems... Moreover the pickups were recently installed and I'm not using a noise gate with my new amp which makes me suspect it more... Also I noticed that the bridge pickup started to hum up a bit too recently... The noise doesn't go away when I play or touch the strings however it does when I roll the guitar volume down....

Heres a pic of the cavity and the pots... ready to upload more detailed pics on request... thanks..

Man I'm an absolute lay man when it comes to guitar electronics... I don't know what you meant by the "solder joints for ground" however if you tell me what it is, I'll be glad to provide pics...

Anyways idk if this will help or not but here's a pic of the neck volume pot...

Can we see pics of the solder joints for ground?

Re: Neck PU hiss... Help!

I like meatballs with my spaghetti:scratchch
The pickup wires look very suspicious, the hot wire(black) doesnt look like it's making good contact, & I cant tell for sure, but it looks like the green is just laying on top of the shielding from that other wire, & I don't see the bare wire from the pickup at all.
Who installed the pickup?
The cavity is sheilded, that greyish colored "paint" is the shield, & the foil on the cover to isolate all the electronics, make sure all the pots are tight (not moving)
That blob of solder on the top is your ground point.

At this point, i'd take it back & have the head tech look at it.
I'd also, since you're new to this stuff, suggest a trip to the wiring library, just to familiarize yourself with the way it all comes together.
A soldering iron, & some reading + practice, will end up saving you lots of $$$
I say this for your benefit, not to be mean...
