Me Again !
So, as I'll put A2P/Slash into my Les Paul for blues to hard rock and will probably go with an SH6 into my Jackson to make it a thrash axe (and SH5 into my tribute 70's SG for low tuned metal), my Standard SG (standard tuning) has to be sort of an "in between the LP and Jackson" if that makes sense.
Therefore, I'll probably choose SH-14 Custom 5 in the bridge position, would be my only mid scooped pickup, so my only worry would be a different kind of taste in the worst case anyway.
On the paper, it looks like the SH1 59' neck match perfectly the Custom 5.
But I also wonder about Pearly Gates and Jazz necks.
I'm guessing the Jazz could brighten a lot the SG and makes something way different than the A2P in the LP.
I was thinking of staying with Alnico 5 for both position, but I'm wondering if the Pearly Gates is a good fit as well ? Would a PGn/SH-14 would make sense in a SG ?
Maybe the middle position would benefit from the added mids from the PGN and its sharp and trebly nature might clear up the SG neck too maybe ?
On paper though, '59 seems to be the ideal Custom 5 buddy.
