Neck SC-sized hum to match a D Activator?

Honestly, I'm starting to lean towards either DiMarzio SDS-1, Rio Grande Muy Grande, or maybe sucking it up and getting a Quarter Pounder. I mean... the pickguard is going to be black, so it's not like it's going to be completely out of place either.

... or on that note, they do have Invader single coils, no? Or are they CS only?

They do, in the Custom Shop.

How about a fat single coil in the neck?

I've just installed a DMZ Pro Track on the bridge of one of my strat, I have to say it's a very good approximation of a vintage PAF humbucker, not too bright, way hotter than a SC, not so scooped, I guess for a neck position could be interesting, it's very clear still being a HB, I'm sure DMZ makes cream cover for their double rails pickups

Well, the Hot Stack Plus is really hot, and really meant for the bridge. It is also quiet (no hum). The Hot Strat still has hum, but has a neck model.

Yeah, I found it weird that they had no option for a cover other than white, and they offer a set, but no bridge pickup option.

So you think the Hot Strat Neck could work with a D Activator? Keep in mind, it's REALLY hot. Is the Hot Strat Neck as hot as... say... a Screamin' Demon or WLH-B? I think that would be at least the level of a HB that I'd need to match the output of the D-Ac.

Well, it is hard to compare a single coil to a humbucker because the EQ and feel is so different. I think it probably is, but it depends on how you hear different frequencies. It will 'feel' more compressed than humbuckers like those, as it is a really hot single.

I like that, TBH. I think that will be the one.

I just wonder if regular cream covers will fit it, or why they only offer it in white. They do mention it has a taller-than-normal coil.

You can try to order it with a different color through an authorized dealer via the Shop Floor Custom program.
