neck single to mate with TB-5 Custom?

what SD neck single coil would be a good match for a Duncan Custom in the bridge? the guitar is a Strat with an OFR, maple fingerboard, and H-S pickup layout. I mainly need something good for cleans.

thanks!

Welcome to the forum! To responsibly answer your question there are a few questions that need to be answered.

"Good cleans"... ok, that could be a lot of pickups. Do you want a true single coil or a noiseless model? Is the body wood balanced like alder or poplar, or brighter like ash? What kind of voice are you looking for? Style of music you're playing?

How are you selecting between pickups? Any desire to split the Custom in the middle position?

(I think the OFR and his nick is a dead giveaway on the style... :p)

Oh, and will you be using a 3 or a 5 way? (has to do with the splitting part)

well, I just installed a Duncan Classic Stack Plus and I love it. it's quiet and gives me the clean tones I was wanting (crisp and open-sounding). my Strat has an alder body and a 3-way selector, but I don't have it wired to split the Custom, just a simple Bridge-Both-Neck setup. yes, as my handle suggests I play metal, mainly older stuff like Judas Priest, Accept, Mercyful Fate, etc.

thanks for the replies :beerchug:
