neck-through LP?

What difference would you expect between a normal set-neck LP (mahogany/maple top - mahogany/ebony) and a neck-through LP with the same woods? Both in tone and sustain.

Any audible difference or...?

I have 3 neckthru les pauls. the lows are tighter, and the sustain is incredible.

Thanks orpheo! I asked because I know more or less what to expect from a maple neck-through guitar but not quite from a mahogany neck-through. I found some video clips from the Douglas WRL 590 which is a mahogany neck-through superstrat and the sound is really really cool to say the least.
