Any equalizer can do this, especially easy with a parametric EQ.

Turn your tone knob up and down really fast. Does it sound like White Room? Or, take a look inside a Crybaby. There's more to it than that.

OK - so you are suggesting that besides playing a Scorprions solo....I turn the knob up and down really fast.....


Guys!!!!!!!!!! Playing a solo. Need a cocked wah sound. Want it bullet proof on-stage. Don't want to spend time with wah on/off, finding the sweet spot etc BS. All kinds of craziness. Who makes a cocked Wah pedal - less than $75.

(although Wah + Loop pedal is a reasonable alternative)

get the cheapest crybaby you can find. pull the tredle off, set the pot where you like it and just use the on/off switch.

Or grab the guts out of a cheap wah and mount it in a box with the switch and pot sticking out the top.9

Ehd, a wah really is just a tone control, but different from the tone pot of most guitars. The specifics of a wah pedal:
-band-pass filter
-active boost

Some parametric EQs & fixed-wahs have additional controls for the height & width of the tone spike. The exact same effect can be produced with a graphic EQ.

Just one song? For a Scorps solo? Rock You Like a Hurricane, I'm assuming. Forget about it. Just something else to sit in the chain that in all reality, doesn't need to be there. Nobody listening is going to care. But if you must, and you a have crybaby already, adjust the pot to the gear so that when it's engaged, it's already half-cocked. Cost = Free.

The boutique version is to do it with a Clyde McCoy Wah.

This is true. I went down to my basement...I mean "studio"... and spiking two bands full up and the other five down below unity does, in fact, provide a passable cooked wah sound.

Aceman - I think your best bet is either go full DIY or pull guts out of a wah and put in another enclosure. You could do this for <$75

This type of sound is great for cutting through regardless, you may use it more than you think.
