Check out Dr. Z amps, if you can find them. Put a SD pup booster in front of it, some sort of pedal to really hit the amp hard, and it's heaven.

from what you are describing...it sounds like a Rivera Fandango to me...you should definitely try them out...i've also heard good things from the new Traynor stuff and of course from Celtic amps...these will definitely get you into the sweet shimmering cleans, to the sweet overdrive of the blues and on to Slash's lead and crunch...or at least close depending on guitar...

i'm feelin the celtic. what would one run? since i'm gonna have the custom gauge, a custom amp would be killer.
