I've arranged to get a COT50 and an Eternity (http://lovepedal.com) simply for the tonal options...the 50 would serve over the clean channel to give some grit to mimick a NMV amplifier just breaking up, while the Eternity would serve as a smooth coat for leads.
*Keep in mind all of this is going into a Mesa IIC+ and a matching 4x12 with Vintage 30s.*
Now, I just setup an old Jackson I had lying around, which has the 25db boost control. I pumped that thing up and ran it through the Boogie, and in result, got an absolutely thunderous sound. It was exhilarating. I never would have thought I needed more thump from that amp...
Anyway, I'm now wondering what exactly I need... I had plans for these two LPs, but now really desire a solid clean boost. I'm aware that the Eternity could serve as a clean boost?--but how well?--say opposed to a RC Booster (http://www.prosoundcommunications.com/english/xotic/effects/rc_booster)?
I'd like to get all three, and have the money to do so, but is it really necessary? I'd like to see what I can do without.
I'm pretty certain that the COT50 will be with me regardless...but will the Eternity's effect as a tool to enhance my lead sound be overwhelmed by the clean boost I would get from the RC Booster? (Wouldn't the COT50 juiced up by the RC Booster sound amazing?
)
Now, if you're wondering why I don't just use the boost on the guitar, my answer is that my #1 is a USA Jackson and does not have the option.
I hope this is enough information for you to give a legitamite response. If not, let me know what's on your mind...and thanks in advance for helping a brother out.
