Need advice pls

I Love the C5. I am planning a total rewire of a Carvin v220 this saturday. The guitar is all maple, ebony board, brass nut. BRITE Bright bright! I have found an Air Norton works great in the neck. Every bridge pup is too bright. I just gat a C5 to try in the bridge. I dont wanna have to try it and tear it back down. Should I go on and swap the mag and run a CC first, or try the c5? I love the C5 in everything else Ive heard it in, but Im not sure if it can tame the bright beast.
What do you advise??

What kind of tones are you looking for? Just considering a bright body vs. darker pickup, my first thought is the Invader but you might not what something like that.

I'd ax the brass nut! Get one made from bone. Never cared for the tone of guitars with a brass nut. Lew

Good point Lew. Although I do have one guitar with a brass nut, an old 70's Epiphone acoustic that sounds sweeter than Pecan Pie.

I'm willing to bet the C5 will be way too bright in that guitar. I had one in a Wolfgang, and the highs were extremely piercing. I think you'd like that pickup with an alnico 3 magnet.
