Need an amp.

So i need a new amp. Definately tube with just KILLER tone. Needed for some gigging, but nothing really heavy. I play classic/blues rock. I'm not looking for really any bells and whistles just some bas ass killer tone. what can you guys reccomend?

Personally, I'd try to get an old Fender black or silverface amp...

But I do love my Marshall DSL 401, and it's the perfect size for me to carry around by myself, it has "my" tone in it, coupled with my LP and TV Jones pickups.

I run it on clean, gain halfway, but please note that I use a 12ay7 instead of a 12ax7 for the first preamp tube, to lower the gain of the amp, clean it up a bit. Makes it sound very 60s vintage.

I recommend the 1977 Marshall JMP 2204 I just bought!

Haven't enjoyed tone like this in over twenty years (since I sold my 1980 Marshall JMP combo).

These late JMPs are still available at reasonable prices. Killer tone, no bells and whistles.

ive looked around but how much are the jmp's going for? what is their tone compared to like a regular jcm 2000?

I've never played a 2000. But I've seen guys play em' They are Modern HI Gain amps while a JMP is good old fashion Pure tube tone w/t no bells and whistles.

Budda Super Drive 30 is nice, works anywhere, blues rock, nice cleans too and it's not too heavy. Has a good FX loop.

my budget is literally no budget. I'm working in debt as it is but i cant stand this line 6 flextone III anymore. i can russle up around 800. tube or combo doesnt matter because you learn that when your dirt poor that you never get to choose anyway haha.
