my carbon copy crapped out on me. so i need some good delays to look at. i rather stay with analog but will consider digital.

Re: need delay suggestions

It bought it?

Already?

You didn't have that long did you?

Keely AD9 is really cool... good sounding pedal w/ infinite hold...

My new favorite is the Pigtronix Echolution... totally different league then anything else... Carl Martin Delayla... either one of those two might be my next delay.

I've been using the same old Ibanez "DDL" for a million years... it's starting to get long in the tooth.

Re: need delay suggestions

i am looking for around 600ms. yeah i only had it a few months. i wouldnt mind getting something where i had the option for a more tape echo sound.

Re: need delay suggestions

At 600ms of analog delay, I'm a fan of the Maxon AD line. The 900 is a little darker and the 999 is brighter.

Of course, the oft-mentioned Retro-Sonic Delay is based on the the awesome sounding Boss DM-2 but with ~600ms of delay time.

Re: need delay suggestions

Yeah, IMO the Retro-Sonic is probably the best in its price range.
If money's no object you can spring for the Diamond Memory Lane 2.

Re: need delay suggestions

The Line 6 DL4 will do what you want. It's the one I use. As far as I'm, it's the best delay pedal I've ever owned.

Re: need delay suggestions

I've been using a Boss DD3 for years now. Not a single problem to date and sounds great.

I'm surprised the CC crapped out on you. I assume its less than a year old? That sucks. :thumbsdow What exactly went wrong with it? I was thinking of getting one to compare an analog delay vs. my digital...

Re: need delay suggestions

I just bought a new Ibanez AD9. Didn't get it yet, but I really liked all the clips I have heard of it. I considered the Carbon Copy, but did not like the repeat tone (very Dark). The AD9 sounded better and its been around for a long time.

I also own 2 DD3's and this is a pretty rock solid delay. As long as you don't need anything to fancy it will do a good job and they are bullet proof. I have had both of mine for over 10 years. I did replace the jacks on one and the switch on another, but in both cases it was my fault, not a failure.

Re: need delay suggestions

Rocktron Short Timer-cheap and sounds great! I've been using my old trusty Boss DD-3 for 12 years. As soon as i plugged in the Short Timer, I replaced the DD-3 with it on my pedal board. Very organic/analog sound, not bad for digital! The best part, lol, are the blue lights!
