need example of Pearly Gates bridge

hi, can someone point me in the direction of an example of the Pearly Gates bridge, used with moderate overdrive? It can be user created or something famous.

I did a search thru this forum but links were now invalid. And on YouTube all i seem to find is guys using it with heavy distortion.

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

listen to some ZZ Top, billy gibbons' 59 les paul's pickups are what the pearly gates are based on, and ZZ Top generally uses a moderately overdriven tone.

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

thanks guys. I knew about Billy Gibbons, and really like his tone, however my understanding was that on ZZ top records its not an actual Pearly Gates. As you say, it's the Gibson which Seymour based the PG on. I want examples of the actual thing.

I heard that Dickey Betts uses them; however in my searches he is always soloing with the neck pickup.

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

listen to my band (myspace.com/lucksrevenge) all the guitar sounds are various amps, but one guitar-a 2006ish Ibanez IC400 with a PG bridge. i didnt use a neck pickup so its all pearly gates

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

thanks NevermindUs. I find the seymour duncan audio clips very informative and agree with the methodology, but i think 'real life' clips with the pros playing them should also be there.

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

im far from a pro, but the quality isnt bad for bedroom demos. but yeah, a couple different marshalls, a fender, some pedals. but its all one guitar and one pickup

Re: need example of Pearly Gates bridge

hang on Nevermindus - what's your band called? I searched for lucksrevenge but no luck (pardon pun). Nevermindus works....
