Bridge Pickup to match a Pearly Gates Neck pickup

Why the different approach?

I'm a huge fan of the Duncan Custom and I have always thought the 59 was a great neck pickup paired with it.

You've decided to replace a Pearly in the neck with a 59? Going downhill IMO. I think the Pearly is a much better sounding neck pup.
But, if you do that and compensate for the tone at your amp (lower the bass and increase the mids) then the Custom in the bridge will probably match it very well.

You're right, the PGn is a great neck pickup. I love the Duncan Custom and have always thought the 59 was a great match for it.

I actually have three neck position humbuckers: a 59 model, Alnico 2 Pro, and a Pearly Gates. Trying to figure out which one to use.

I set up a buddy's HSH guitar with a PGn in the neck, APS-2 in the middle, and SH-5 Custom in the bridge. It was a great setup. Any of those neck models will work well.
