It’s a great little pedal - mine has my own toneprint, that goes from dry to cavernous, and I can adjust it with my foot.

I have the regulars size HOF and while it’s certainly a good unit, my buddy’s Strymon Blue Sky blows it away.
But, it gets the job done.
My next unit will absolutely be a midi capable unitNaomi can have multiple choices without having to make direct adjustments on the pedal itself at gigs/rehearsals.

The Biyang Tri Reverb is a lush inexpensive clone of the HOF
There was one that was a trick reverb that was just unreal

You appear to want something that sounds like a spring reverb, so I'm going in that direction with my answer. If you're looking for room / hall options, the Boss RV-6 is dirt cheap and sounds pretty good. You could also drop for something like a Strymon BlueSky, but that's overkill for many players.
I have a Boss FRV-1 on my board, but I picked it up before they were discontinued and the prices went insane. At the $70 I paid it was a bargain, but the $180+ they go for these days, not so much. If I had to buy a reverb pedal today I'd probably buy a Strymon Flint. I admit that I'm almost curious enough to buy one even though I don't really need it.

For a really simple, cheap and great reverb, it's hard to beat EHX Holy Grail.
It's not versatile, only does two things: Classic spring reverb thing and bigger hall reverb, bothcontrolled by single knob. But they sound consistently really good. If you just want to add reverb to amp that doesn't have it, it's perfect.
(It also has that flerb mode, but it sounds like useless gimmick to me)

The TC Hall of Fame is very flexible, especially with its extensive computer-based editing software. I also found it more musical than the Boss RV-6.
That EHX Cathedral is wild; I came pretty close to buying one.

Hall of Fame - Never a bad choice
Holy Grail - my personal very organic favorite
Verbzilla - great choice and flexible
Digitech Hardwire - probably available on the cheap
I'm not into the latest newest toys.
However - the high holy cabala of reverb - if you dig tubes - get a Peavey Valverb.

Since it was the Princeton's reverb that hooked you, keep in mind it is quite simple (although it has a tank) with only one adjustment. Keep your pedal selection simple as well....no need to buy a $200-$300 or more pedal. That is unless money is no object and you love to 'tinker'.

for my hard rock and metal i just want a little body to my sound so I use a Catalinbread Talisman plate reverb set very slightly.
If I were to use other reverbs for different styles, I would get a Holy Grail (Hall, Spring, Plate) or a J Rockett Boing (Spring) or even a Donner Yellow Fall (Spring)
