hey im trying to get my JB pick up to work in my epiphone les paul (standard) and well everything has gone good so far except my volume knob seems to be messed up... it only has loud and no volume, like when it is at 10 its loud and has a very good sound, and lets say i want to do fading or something it just cuts out... any ideas?

Either a wire is on the wrong lug of the pot, or you have a turd pot, though Im guessing it worked fine before. Got a camera? take a pic of the cavity and lets us have a look at the wiring.

Just my $.02, but if I were you, I'd throw a couple of CTS pots in there. They are cheap and better than whats there now (assuming you have the stock pots)

Did you solder the ground for the pickup onto the back of the volume pot? If so theres a chance you heated up the pot to much while soldering the ground and fried it replacing the pots is the only thing i can suggest there cheap and easy to get and i suggest cts pots.
