I am selling my Gibson Melody Maker V and someone wants to trade a Boss ME 50 now I am using a Marshall JCM 800 with no effects but clean... So do you think I should trade? I am really considering it... Should I ask him to throw in some money? Like I don't know. Please help

Re: need help on a trade

Your guitar is worth about $130 more on average than his multieffects. Don't do it unless he throws in some dough.

Re: need help on a trade

Even then, there is significant depreciation on the multi effects box, less so on the guitar. I wouldn't do it, personally.

So should I ask him to give me $100? Since they go for about $150 average on eBay and I am selling my V for $250

This, unless you really see a need for the Multi effects box and dont want that guitar. I recollect you wanted to sell some of your Gibby style guitars. I say wait and trade it for something else if you dont really need the multibox.

Re: need help on a trade

But I really think that the ME50 and the guy said he could also give me $75 is a good trade since I just want the Gibson gone I don't use it and I think the multi fx is good for my clean only JCM800 I love my other guitars and play them a lot! I only see good coming from this and the only bad reviews I have seen about it is the overdrive isn't the greatest but I already have an overdrive pedal/distortion I have a Metal Muff with boost

Re: need help on a trade

The bottom line (literally) is this. Unless you are GASsing big time for a pre-owned Boss ME-50, accept only hard cash for your guitar.

Re: need help on a trade

Personally I would stay away from any multi effects pedals. In my experience they generally have more weaknesses then strengths.
