Need help on cabs and ohms - also a speaker wattage q's for 4 x 12

couple of quick questions. first, I guess I've been swept up on all of the Eminence hoopla and now I want to get two speakers for my 4 x 12. These will be the only two speakers in the cab and I have in mind a Red Fang and a Governor. However I'm wondering if the Red Fang is to weak. 30 Wrms/ 60 watts is what it says on their website, but I have no clue about it. I don't want to run the risk of blowing it up. The Governor 75Wrms/150W should be fine, but will it over power the Red Fang?

I'll be running these through my TSL 60 Watt and I need to know if this will work ok, blow somethin up? And most importantly what ohms should I get? The TSL can be either 8 or 16.

As if I don't ask enough, do any of you have any good website that show detailed diagrams and possibly some tutorials?

You should be just fine wattage wise sharing the load between two speakers since together they can easlily handle the power. I'd suggest that the two speakers have the same impedence though. If one is say 8 and the other 16 the bulk of the current will flow to the 8 because there is less resistance. The 8 will not "overpower" the 16 but it will drow more current. Amps have power not speakers.

Check the efficency of the speakers in question too. If the difference is 2dB or more the more efficent speaker will play noticably louder than the lesser one. (If their impedences are equal).

Thanks, I just ordered two governors from avatar. I wanted the red fang/governor combonation, but the guy said it would be likely that I would blow it up. I got 2 16ohm governors. Said it would ship tomorrow, be here in 5-7 days :eyecrazy:


Edit: well the two governors saved me some money. Mabey I'll get that JB sooner than I planed :33:

if you have 2 different speakers and one is less wattage handling than the other, then you just take the max of the smaller one and that is what the other one will work at.....so if you had the 30 watt red fang, the governor would have only seen as much as 30 watts as well, making it a 60 watt handling capability, not the amount of the 2 wattages combined
