I'm finishing my 70's Fat Strat and need help selecting pups, preferably SD's. I'm trying to get those seering high harmonics per Brian May, however just using Trisonics without the rest of his setup (Red Special, Treble Booster, Vox AC-30, etc) may leave me short. So I'm heading in a different direction.
I play through a .50 Cal+ Mesa with Boss Delay + Chorus pedals. I play classic rock and Texas blues. My pickguard is routed for a humbucker and 2 single coils. Many folks have suggested a JB for the humbucker, which I'm cool with. So now I need suggestions on mid and neck positioned single coils. I have 6-hole chrome covers for the SC's, so I'm looking for "vintage" designed SC's with 6 steel poles, not hot rails/duckbuckers as the covers won't fit. Also, a hum-canceling design would be nice. And finally, if they sound like the .mp3 posted below, I'd have found the Holy Grail.
I know it's asking a lot, but the online Tone Wizard didn't quite figure it out for me and the local shops are more interested in selling what they've got in stock. So any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Keven
