Need help picking a Floyd Rose nut width.

What Floyd Rose nut width would I need for a 1.6875”/43mm MIJ Jackson RR24M? R3 or R4? The neck is bound if that makes a difference.

R3 and R4 are both 43mm but with different string spacing. I guess it's up to how you prefer it.

R3 and R4 are the same physical outside width, it's the spacing that differs. R3 is narrower and R4 wider. Either will fit, just depends on the spacing you want. R3 is usually the standard for 1 11/16" nut width guitars.

R3 is meant to go on bound necks, and it's the standard Jackson width. Problem is, the FR nuts are taller, and not by a little. So you either have to shave down the nut shelf or mill down the nut some for it to work. The Kahler with the built in string retainer works and I'm told that a Gotoh works, but I haven't tried one.

Or you can just buy a Jackson BH43 nut off of ebay.
