Re: need help,please

You are only going to get answers if people are qualified to answer or interested in the question, or both. You might try adding more info in your questions, such as a particular tone that you're trying to achieve, a favorite player, a band, etc. The more backgroud info that you give, the more likely you are to get a useful answer.

It's not because you're new. We were all new here at one time. Think about the way that you're asking your questions, and think about whether or not you're giving enough info to let possible responders know exactly what you're trying to achieve.

I hope it helps.

There's quite alot of people on here vying for attention. I'll have a look at your post history see if I can help with anything. I've only been here a couple of weeks meself...

Re: need help,please

Hey, if there's anything I can help with, I will. My jack of trade is more along the lines of recording. I do have moderate experience with electronics, but there are others here whom are far more experienced. I'm not sure I can answer your blended pot question, but I can tell you how to take your 500K down to 333K. Go buy a 100K ohm resistor. Solder this to the pot's legs, where the input and ground are located. These wires usually run to the input. You can use this technique on volume pots, tone, or both.

thanx,so there is a differance between volume and tone pots?

Yes.

Volume controls usually have a logarithmic taper, Tone controls usually have a linear taper.

I posted a long response to one of your queries elsewhere here which covers this in some detail.

Hi lozano71,

Afew months ago, when my post count was similiar to yours, I posted a thread much the same as yours. I can't remember who it was that gave me this advice but it has stuck with me the whole time I've been posting on here.

If you don't get a satisfactory answer to a question then consider that maybe you asked it wrong. People are here because they want to help others as well as receive help themselves. If you don't get the answer you're looking for then ask the question differently. This often helps enormously. You have a whole league of people who are literally waiting to help you. You just have to let them.
