Need help selecting pick ups n

I’m looking for new pick ups for an Epi Les Paul plus top. I play mostly hard rock, some with lower tunings. I use an EVH 5153 so I’m playing through a high gain amp. I want my sound to be pretty thick and heavy with lots of bottom end. Couple of people have suggested a jazz in the neck and a JB in the bridge. I just can’t pull the trigger on them.

if you want thick sounds get a SLUG bridge and put the JB in the neck

I think that's a bit overkill. I'd say start with looking for sound clips of the Custom Custom bridge and Pearly Gates neck combo. The Custom Custom can get mushy in lower tunings, but so long as you aren't part of the C standard crowd, you shouldn't have any major issues.

Have same exact set up. I recently added the Pegasus/Sentient set and couldnt be happier. Didnt blow me away at 1st TBH. But after some eq adjustments, is my number 1 now. Great guitar. Stays in tune, sounds great thru that amp. Nice funky tones on the clean channel too. Harmonics dont leap out like a JB, but IDK. Their strength IMHO is no weakness.
